12/31/2017 0 Comments January 2018 Update:Happy New Year!
Some of us have been fortunate to have been able to take a few days vacation in December and now that most of the festivities and visiting is over, things in our lives are starting to get back to routine. Getting back into routines can actually be a welcome change, especially when our routines help support our health and wellness goals. Being more conscious of how we eat and ensuring that we get enough exercise is always important for our physical and mental health, and even more important after we have overindulged! Wellness tip for January: As we get back to routines in January, make sure to schedule your own wellness activities. Do you value your health and want to make sure that you take care of it? Try booking time for yourself in your calendar in advance so that you are less likely to forget or overbook yourself. This sounds so simple, but is more of a challenge than we realize! Often we put ourselves last on the list and it's not until we get sick that we take time for ourselves. And there's no need to feel guilty, making a bit of time for yourself in the schedule can also set a healthy example for other members of the family, including children.

12/1/2017 0 Comments December 2017 Update:December is the time of the year when sunlight levels are at their lowest. Combined with all the preparations for holidays and extra engagements this can sometimes leave us feeling a bit drained. I know that I tend to get caught up in the busyness of the season and caring for everyone else, forgetting to look after myself! In fact while writing this paragraph, I took my own advice and booked some relaxation time for myself. Meditation, prayer, affirmations, deep breathing and tapping are simple yet effective techniques to help reduce your stress levels. Remember to actually use these strategies! If you are attuned to Reiki healing energy, make sure you set aside a few minutes to actually give yourself Reiki, even if it is just before you fall asleep. This will help decrease anxiety, improve sleep and keep your energy flowing! Have a question about Reiki? Contact us and stay tuned for Reiki classes starting in 2018!
