8/1/2018 0 Comments All about August 2018This past month, I had the pleasure of walking under a big blue sky in fields that were full of lavender. The sunshine warmed my skin and the soil. The smell of the lavender was wonderful. The different purple hues were glorious, but what struck me most was actually the noise. There was a constant buzzing sound from the bees that filled my ears. The fields were truly alive with bees and butterflies in a way that photographs cannot really capture. Immersing myself in this beauty involved more that just using my eyes!
Engaging more than one of our senses in daily life, especially when we are in nature, is a profound way for us to practice being more present and open to this moment. Living in the moment can help us to be more grounded and relaxed. In the tip of the month, we explore some uses for essential oils and how they can be used to support hair health and growth. When used in Indian Head massage they are a fun example of soothing ways to engage your sense of smell and touch. Wellness tip for August: Healthy Hair Indian Head Massage has many benefits, not the least of which is that it promotes healthy hair! Indian Head Massage can be done with essential oils that are customized for your hair type. For example, lemongrass for more oily hair types and cedarwood for dry hair or itchy scalp. You can try creating an aromatic hair treatment for your locks at home too. Just make sure you let those oils soak in for a minimum of one hour before using shampoo first and then water to rinse.
